Dear Parents/Guardians.
Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year! If you are a returning parent/guardian, we're glad you're back! If you're new here, welcome to our school, we're glad you chose us!
I would like to take a minute to let you know of a few changes here at Marcum. The first change is that we will now have a cell phone in the office for the purpose of text messaging. You may now choose to text in daily dismissal changes and absence reconciliations. Similarly, if your child is ill or has had an injury during the day, you can choose for the office staff to send you a text instead of calling. Second, due to a low attendance rate and an excessive tardy rate, we will be implementing an attendance incentive program. More information about this program and absence reconciliation policies will be sent home soon.
Next, I would like to tell you about the enclosed packet. In this packet you will find important documents that need to be filled out and returned to the school as soon as possible, but no later than August 18, 201 5. Last year we started mailing home our Back-to-School Packet so that we had all of the necessary documents returned prior to the first day of school. This seemed to work really well and made the first week of school a little easier on the parents, office staff and teachers alike. If you are a returning parent, you will notice that our Student Emergency Card looks a little different. Most of the information needed is the same; however there are a few added items and it is now a single-sided form. The documents included, that need
to be returned, are as follows:
- Student Emergency Card- 1 per student
- Dismissal Form- 1 per student
- AS ES/Wildcat Care Paperwork(Before and After School Care Programs)- 1 per family
- NSLP Application for Free and Reduced Meals (optional) - 1 per family
- Annual Notification Signature Page- 1 per family

- Breakfast and Lunch Menus for August
- Bus Route Schedules
- The Parent/Student Handbook can be found on our school website, www.marcum-illinois.org, or a hard copy can be given to you by request. Please be sure to read this with your child(ren), so you are each aware of rules and expectations.
You may return your completed documents in any of the following ways :
- Scan and email to: staceys@sutter.k12.ca.us
- Fax to: (530) 755-4302 Attn: Stacey
- Drop them off in person at the school office: M-F 7:30a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Additionally, if you are new to our school, or are the parent of a TK, Kindergarten, or 7th grade student and you have any other enrollment documents that need to be submitted, please do so ASAP.
